Step by Step Method
Step 1
In the bowl of a food processor or blender, process the oats until they are the consistency of bread crumbs, but not powdery.
Step 2
Place oats and ground turkey in a large bowl with all remaining ingredients and mix gently using your hands.
Step 3
Form into 5 large patties or 6 smaller ones.
Step 4
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate while you preheat the grill to medium-high.
Step 5
Lightly oil rack and grill burgers 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
Step 6
Serve on multigrain buns or with grilled portobello "buns" (eat with a knife and fork!) to keep them gluten free.
Step 7
To make the portobello buns, simply brush the large mushroom caps with olive oil on both sides and grill alongside the burgers.
