Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2/3 cup oats (quick cooking, not instant)
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup spinach (finely chopped cooked)
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons pesto (sun-dried tomato pesto)

  • Salt, to taste
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In the bowl of a food processor or blender, process the oats until they are the consistency of bread crumbs, but not powdery.

  • Step 2: Place oats and ground turkey in a large bowl with all remaining ingredients and mix gently using your hands.

  • Step 3: Form into 5 large patties or 6 smaller ones.

  • Step 4: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate while you preheat the grill to medium-high.

  • Step 5: Lightly oil rack and grill burgers 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

  • Step 6: Serve on multigrain buns or with grilled portobello "buns" (eat with a knife and fork!) to keep them gluten free.

  • Step 7: To make the portobello buns, simply brush the large mushroom caps with olive oil on both sides and grill alongside the burgers.
