Step by Step Method

Fry the bacon

Leaving about 1 Tablepoon of bacon grease in the pan .

Cook the chopped onion and peppers a few minutes in the bacon grease .

Then add everything else (having drained the tomato juice from the can and topped off with water to make 1 cup of liquid).
Step 6
Bring to a boil and cook 3-4 minutes.
Step 7
Stir.
Step 8
Turn the heat down to low, cover and cook another 15 minutes or so.
