Step 1: Fry the bacon
Step 2: Remove
Step 3: Leaving about 1 Tablepoon of bacon grease in the pan .
Step 4: Cook the chopped onion and peppers a few minutes in the bacon grease .
Step 5: Then add everything else (having drained the tomato juice from the can and topped off with water to make 1 cup of liquid).
Step 6: Bring to a boil and cook 3-4 minutes.
Step 7: Stir.
Step 8: Turn the heat down to low, cover and cook another 15 minutes or so.
