Melt the butter in large glass bowl in microwave
Add the sugars and mix with a sturdy wooden spoon.
Add the vanilla and syrup and blend together.
Add eggs; Beat
Measure the dry ingredients together; sift them before adding to the mixture.
Depending on how cooled your butter is, the dough may seem pretty stiff.
Just keep mixing with a sturdy wooden spoon until all of the flour is incorporated.
Add the chocolate chips and mix again.
Refrigerate 30-60 minutes, covered.
Preheat your oven to 350.
Scoop balls of dough onto Pam-sprayed cookie sheet spacing about 2 inches apart so they don't touch when they bake.
Bake for 12 minutes
The cookies will be puffy and starting to look golden brown on the edges.
