Step 1

Melt the butter in large glass bowl in microwave

Step 2

Add the sugars and mix with a sturdy wooden spoon.

Add the vanilla and syrup and blend together.

Add eggs; Beat

Measure the dry ingredients together; sift them before adding to the mixture.

Depending on how cooled your butter is, the dough may seem pretty stiff.

Just keep mixing with a sturdy wooden spoon until all of the flour is incorporated.

Add the chocolate chips and mix again.

Refrigerate 30-60 minutes, covered.

Preheat your oven to 350.

Scoop balls of dough onto Pam-sprayed cookie sheet spacing about 2 inches apart so they don't touch when they bake.

Bake for 12 minutes

Step 13

The cookies will be puffy and starting to look golden brown on the edges.
