"This cake extender makes a higher and lighter cake, that will look more beautiful once frosted! Cooking time would depend on the cake you are making, so I just put in the extra time it takes when you add in this extender."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions.

Step 2

Combine the next 4 ingredients, and add to the prepared cake batter. Mix well.

Step 3

Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 inch baking pan.

Step 4

Bake per package directions, plus an extra 15 minutes.

I can't tell you how many times I have used this recipe since printing it off, but the paper already has flour fingerprints on it :) I love this recipe and use it with all kinds of cake mixes. It really extends the height of the cake and they are always so moist and delicious. A real keeper. LOVE it!

I tried this with a chocolate cake mix, it increased the size and made for a really moist tasty cake, I'm quite glad I found this gem I'll use this when I make a boxed cake, thanks LindasBusyKitchen

I made it, I used it and I loved it! My Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting was to die for! Nice and thick from the extender. A real piece of cake!

I loved the idea of this and when I tried it I was very pleased with the resulting thicker cake for me to serve. I will use these added ingredients from now on!
