  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt the butter in large glass bowl in microwave

  • Step 2: Add the sugars and mix with a sturdy wooden spoon.

  • Step 3: Add the vanilla and syrup and blend together.

  • Step 4: Add eggs; Beat

  • Step 5: Measure the dry ingredients together; sift them before adding to the mixture.

  • Step 6: Depending on how cooled your butter is, the dough may seem pretty stiff.

  • Step 7: Just keep mixing with a sturdy wooden spoon until all of the flour is incorporated.

  • Step 8: Add the chocolate chips and mix again.

  • Step 9: Refrigerate 30-60 minutes, covered.

  • Step 10: Preheat your oven to 350.

  • Step 11: Scoop balls of dough onto Pam-sprayed cookie sheet spacing about 2 inches apart so they don't touch when they bake.

  • Step 12: Bake for 12 minutes

  • Step 13: The cookies will be puffy and starting to look golden brown on the edges.
