Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat grill to medium-high. Heat oil in medium saucepan on medium. Add onion, salt and pepper and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until tender, 5 to 6 minutes. Stir in garlic, and cook 1 minute. Add tomato paste and cook, stirring, 2 minutes.

Step 2

Add ketchup, molasses, vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, cayenne, allspice and 1/4 cup water and mix to combine. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes; remove from heat.

Step 3

Grill pork chops just until cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes per side, basting with some sauce (about 1/3 cup) during last 2 minutes of cooking. Transfer to platter and baste again, then serve with remaining sauce

I am rating the sauce! It is wonderful!! I'll use it on pork all the time now. I did add some salt and pepper to the pork, although no seasoning of the pork was mentioned. The sauce is probably enough. We really loved this. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture, but there is one leftover and I'll try to to a picture of it! Thanks for sharing!

What wonderful grilled pork chops. The sauce is really good, and it doesn't take a great deal of time to make. I'll make these grilled pork chops again. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Teresa.

This was fantastic!!! As I was making the sauce, my husband was mowing the lawn. He came in the house and asked me what I was making he could smell it over the smell of fresh cut grass. He said he couldn't wait for dinner. I only grilled two chops but made the full recipe for sauce and I'm glad I did; now I has some on hand to use up for a few more times. Thx for sharing this recipe here.
