The ingredient tips, suggestions, variations, facts, questions and answers below are not edits to the original author's recipe. They are not meant to imply any change would improve the recipe. • When selecting jalapeños, look for ones that are firm and bright green in color.
  • For the best flavor, use freshly grated cheddar cheese.

  • Substitute the cheddar cheese with vegan cheese. This substitution will make the recipe vegan-friendly and suitable for those who avoid dairy products.
  • Substitute the butter with olive oil. This substitution will make the recipe healthier, as olive oil is a healthier fat than butter.

Vegetarian Poppers Replace the butter with a vegan butter substitute and use a vegan cheese substitute instead of cheddar cheese.

Jalapeno-Mushroom Poppers Substitute the jalapeno peppers with mushrooms. Stuff the mushrooms with a vegan cream cheese and top with vegan Parmesan cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 20 minutes or until the mushrooms are golden brown.

Roasted Potatoes with Garlic and Rosemary - This side dish is the perfect accompaniment to Jalapeños Pepper Poppers. The potatoes are roasted with garlic and rosemary for a delicious flavor that complements the spicy poppers. The potatoes also provide a nice balance to the overall meal.

Grilled Corn with Lime and Cilantro: This side dish is the perfect complement to the Roasted Potatoes with Garlic and Rosemary. The sweet, smoky flavor of the grilled corn pairs nicely with the savory potatoes, and the addition of lime and cilantro adds a refreshing, zesty flavor. The combination of the two dishes creates a flavorful and balanced meal.

All hail QUEEN BEA! Bea, these are amazing. Mine didn't look as pretty as yours but they tasted so good... no leftovers and I had to fight the kids for them. They weren't too spicy and the flavor combination was perfect. We usually have bacon with poppers and you don't even miss it with this recipe. 10 stars! Made for Billboard Tag in the forums.

We loved the flavor...although the hubby thought there was too much of the breadcrumbs for his liking...next time I'm going to add less...I did downsize this to 2 large jalapeno peppers...we enjoyed them for one of our appy nights...made for "WOTM" and "B'Zazzled" tag games...
