"Can add minced bacon. Wally world has real bacon bits that would be awesome or ham, but I'm making it meatless. Can add chicken stock if you are not vegan. If vegan use margarine."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.
Step 2
Drain, saving 1/2 cup pasta water.
Step 3
Meanwhile in stockpot, heat oil.
Step 4
Add shallot, red chili flakes and garlic.
Step 5
Cook for 1 minute.
Step 6
Add peas and veggie broth.
Step 7
Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Add the pasta and pasta water to the pan along with parmesan, parsley and butter.
Step 9
You can add meat here if using.
Step 10
Cook, continuously stirring, until cheese is melted and everything is well combined and saucy.
Step 11
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
