Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large saucepan, combine the potatoes with water to cover by 2 inches. Bring to a boil and boil until tender when pierced with a fork, 25-30 minutes. Drain and place in a large bowl.

Step 2

Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan over low heat, combine the butter and cream and warm gently only until the butter is soft and mixture is slightly warm.

Step 3

Add the mixture and the horseradish to the bowl holding the potatoes. Using and electric mixer set on high speed, whip until smooth.

Step 4

Add the salt and pepper and serve at once.

I would never have thought of adding horseradish to mashed potatoes. I will do this again, especially when serving them with beef. I served them with hamburger gravy, and they were so creamy and delicious! A definite keeper recipe!
