Step by Step Method

Step 1

Drizzle the oil in a skillet and bring to medium-high heat on the stove top; add the crushed garlic.

Step 2

Sprinkle the chicken strips with salt and pepper to taste, add to skillet and cook until you have a nice golden crust on both sides; remove the chicken pieces from skillet and set aside.

Step 3

Pour in the wine, add the sliced shallots and cook until wine is almost completely reduced.

Step 4

Whisk together the broth, honey, mustard, hot pepper flakes and cornstarch and slowly pour into the skillet.

Step 5

Add the chicken strips bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 20 minutes.

Just as I was starting to make this I got called into work. DH took over !!!! He cut the chicken a little fine and it tended to fall apart, but he forged ahead and did not make a bad job of it overall. I was a little impressed actually! DH and myself really enjoyed this, but DS thought it need vegetables... which would be really easy to do if one wanted. We served this with rice, but I think next time it might be potato, as I am not a big fan of rice and I think potato would be wonderful with this recipe. Thanks QueenBea a quick, easy and very tasty recipe.
