Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2
Butter an 8-by-8 inch baking dish.
Step 3
Place hominy into a colander and drain off the liquid.
Step 4
In a medium bowl, add canned Ortega green chiles undrained, garlic, black pepper, and salt, to taste stirring to combine.
Step 5
Pour hominy mixture into the baking dish.
Step 6
Pour heavy cream and milk over the hominy mixture.
Step 7
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Top with grated cheese and continue baking for 8 to 10 minutes, until mixture is bubbly and cheese is melted.
Step 9
Serve warm.
