Step by Step Method
Step 1
Melt butter and chocolate in the top of a double boiler.
Step 2
Meanwhile, place the eggs in mixing bowl and beat until light.

Beat syrup, sugar, salt and vanilla into the eggs.

Add the nuts.

Now add slightly cooled chocolate mixture.

Mix thoroughly and pour; into pastry lined pie pan.
Step 7
Bake at 350° for 25 to 35 minutes or until the top is crusty and filling is set — but soft inside.
Step 8
Do not over bake.
Step 9
Pie should shake like custard so it will not be too stiff when cool.
Step 10
May be served plain or with ice cream or whipped cream.
