"I have no idea where this recipe came from. It was in my box of unposted recipes, hand written and not my handwriting. It is delicious. Lovely moist, flavour loaded lamb. For the beef broth I doulbe the strength using a whole cube for the 1/4 cup water. I like to serve with boiled potatoes with the pan juices and veggies fork mashed into them. Real comfort food."

Very good - this is the first time I ever made lamb shanks - but saw them in the grocery and thought they would be fun to try - skipped the wine and used 8 oz of the mushrooms, canned beef broth and probably double the tomatoes. I also didn't have any bay leaves and used mostly fresh herbs - enjoyed it over rice mixed with peas (the rice also used the beef broth for part of the water). Comfort food it is! Thanks for sharing!
