Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds lamb shank (2 lamb shanks rinsed, patted dry, extra fat removed)
  • 1/2 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon worchestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 6 large cloves garlic, peeled, cut in half
  • 5 ounces fresh mushrooms (cleaned, cut in half)
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup beef broth (extra strength)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (I like to use Mexi tomatoes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 small bay leaf

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the crock pot

  • Step 2: Rub the shanks with worchester sauce, season with salt and pepper, rubbed in.

  • Step 3: Heat oil in a skillet, high heat and brown the shanks on all sides.

  • Step 4: Place shanks in the crock pot over the onions and top with garlic cloves

  • Step 5: Mix together the remaining ingredients, mix well and pour over the shanks.

  • Step 6: Cook on low for 6-8 hours

  • Step 7: Serve and enjoy
