"This is a lovely appetizer that is served with your favourite salsa. I like rinsing the halloumi cheese before dredging it just to remove some of the excess salt. You can use regular bread crumbs if you like; the panko crumbs make them a bit crispier."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Put enough oil in a pan to deep-fry the halloumi and heat it.
Step 2
Put flour in a shallow bowl.
Step 3
Mix eggs and a bit of milk together in a bowl.
Step 4
Put panko crumbs in a shallow bowl.
Step 5
Dip the halloumi pieces in flour.
Step 6
Dip the floured halloumi in the egg mixture.
Step 7
Dip in panko crumbs.
Step 8
Deep-fry the breaded halloumi sticks in the hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes, until golden.
Step 9
Remove with a slotted spoon and rest on paper towels.
Step 10
Arrange fried halloumi in a serving platter and serve with salsa.
