  • Choose a good melting cheese such as young provolone, fontina, Jack, or cheddar for best results.
  • Avoid using fresh mozzarella or dry cheese meant for grating.

  • Substitute almond flour for all-purpose flour. Almond flour is a healthier alternative to all-purpose flour, as it is gluten-free and has a higher protein content. This substitution will make the dish healthier and more nutritious.
  • Substitute Parmesan cheese for mozzarella cheese. Parmesan cheese has a stronger flavor and is less likely to become soggy or runny when cooked. This substitution will give the dish a stronger flavor and a better texture.

Crispy Panko Cheese Replace the dry bread crumbs with panko crumbs, and add 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder to the flour mixture. Increase the cooking time to 1-2 minutes.

Mexican Street Corn Salad: This Mexican-inspired side dish is the perfect accompaniment to the cheesy waffle. The sweet corn, creamy mayonnaise, and tangy lime juice work together to create a flavorful and texturally pleasing dish that pairs perfectly with the crunchy fried cheese.

Chili-Lime Grilled Shrimp: This spicy and tangy shrimp dish is a great addition to the Mexican Street Corn Salad. The combination of chili powder, lime juice, and garlic adds a unique flavor that pairs well with the sweet and creamy corn salad. The grilled shrimp adds a nice smoky flavor and a crunchy texture to the meal.
