Step by Step Method

Step 1

Wash and dry mushrooms, cut off ends of stems without separating them from the caps, and slice 1/8-inch-thick lengthwise.

Step 2

Sprinkle with seasoning salt, fines herbes, and dry mustard.

Step 3

Brown in butter, adding more if necessary to keep mushrooms moist.

Step 4

When nearly done, add vinegar; reheat, and serve hot.

Loved these. I don’t keep seasoned salt, so I used Umami Mushroom seasoning. The vinegar really made the flavors pop. Served on a steak.

Scaled back to one serve using Swiss Brown button mushrooms and it made one of the best mushroom burgers I have ever had thank you lazyme made for the Joy of Vegetables at FF&F.

This was an amazing mushroom dish packed full of flavor...you knew there were herbs...but they weren't overpowering...the dry mustard got lost but the red wine vinegar added a touch of tartness...these were delicious...I served them as a side with steak...made for FYC tag game...
