Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg.

Step 3

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar with electric mixer to form a grainy paste.

Step 4

Add eggnog, vanilla, and egg yolks and beat at mediums speed.

Step 5

Add flour mixture, beat at low speed until combined, but don't over mix.

Step 6

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Sprinkle lightly with reserve nutmeg.

Step 7

Bake for 18-23 minutes, or until cookie bottoms turn light brown. Transfer to a cool, flat surface.

You had me at nutmeg. Love the stuff. My mother made a similar cookie one Christmas and I guess I was the only one who liked them because they never made another appearance. This will be on my cookie try this year. (I only made 1/2 recipe to test them, and they passed the test! Nice and buttery and soft.

Yummy cookies. The recipe didn't state the oven temp, so I baked them at 350F and found that I only needed to bake them for about 18 minutes. Nice flavor and my family also enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing, Teresa.
