"I found this recipe on another site which was posted to them by Ivana*. The recipes says it makes 10 to 12 scones, but we'll see.Well,I made this recipe on 6/4/14 and came back to mark it as " Tested And Approved ". I did make the batter as it was written, and baked just one to see if it needed any improvement. As much as I liked it the way it was written,I did add some garlic powder & oregano (about 1/2 teaspoon each). "Keep Smiling :)"

  • For the best flavor, use a sharp cheddar cheese.
  • For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of low-fat or skim.

  • Substitute almond flour for self-rising flour: Almond flour is a great gluten-free alternative to self-rising flour, and it also adds a nutty flavor to the scones. The benefit of this substitution is that it makes the scones gluten-free and adds an additional layer of flavor.
  • Substitute vegan cheese for cheddar cheese: Vegan cheese is a great alternative to cheddar cheese, as it is dairy-free and still provides a cheesy flavor. The benefit of this substitution is that it makes the scones dairy-free, which is great for those with dietary restrictions or allergies.

Herb and Garlic Scones Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and oregano to the batter before baking. Sprinkle with additional herbs and garlic powder before baking.

Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan Cheese:

RECOMMENDED DISH DESCRIPTION: This roasted asparagus dish is the perfect complement to the cheesy scones. The salty, nutty flavor of the Parmesan cheese pairs perfectly with the savory scones, while the asparagus adds a fresh, crunchy texture. Plus, it's easy to make and a great way to add some color and nutrition to your meal.

Herb-Roasted Potatoes: These potatoes are roasted with a blend of herbs, garlic, and olive oil for a delicious and nutritious side dish. The herbs add a fragrant aroma and flavor, while the garlic and olive oil give the potatoes a savory depth. This dish is a great accompaniment to the roasted asparagus and Parmesan cheese, and it's an easy way to add a little extra flavor to your meal.

These bikkies are awesome! Lovely flavour and texture. I added basil and garlic as you suggested and used buttermilk. And used a sharp white cheddar. I made butter yesterday and used the buttermilk from that. Will be making these again for sure. Thank you Lee for sharing! Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.
