"We have enjoyed many a cabbage salad and coleslaws, but when it comes to a special gathering this has been our go to for about twenty-five years. It's also an easy and delicious salad to take to pot lucks, social events, and back yard get togethers, always sees to the bowl come home empty. We don't know why but for the special taste we love - the onion has to be grated!"

Great Slaw- I added sugar, used some heavy cream ( its what I had), red-wine vinegar and all the other ingredients.

Good slaw. I used the lemon juice and celery seed as suggested and shredded all the veggies in a food processor. I didn't have any half and half so used 1 T heavy cream and 1 T skim milk but otherwise followed the ingredients as written. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely slaw! I used the celery seed and lemon juice but did not use the green pepper (can not eat). Another yummy recipe Gerry! Thank you for sharing. Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.

What a great tasting coleslaw! I used coconut milk instead of half and half and it worked perfectly!! I love the crunch of the celery seed. Great recipe Gerry.

Great basic coleslaw recipe! I used half a large head of cabbage chopped and did use my ribbon grater for the carrot and onion. I used 1/4 cup lite olive oil and black pepper mayo and 1/4 cup regular mayo, 2tbsp white wine vinegar, 1 tsp sugar, 3/4 tsp salt, Hungarian sweet paprika and 1 tsp celery seed. This went great with BBQ'd hotdogs. Freddy Cat says thanks for the slaw! Made for the Billboard recipe tag game.
