"This Butter Chicken recipe is one I enjoy often. My DH is not a big fan of Indian food but he does really enjoy this. Serve this with a side of Jasmine or Basmati rice or your favorite bun or Naan Bread to soak up those fantastic juices."

Step 1

Melt the butter in a skillet and add the chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, curry powder, Garam Masala and salt.

Step 2

Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink on the outside but not browned: pour into crock-pot.

Step 3

Pour the soup broth into the skillet and scrape the bits off the bottom; pour into the crock-pot.

Step 4

Stir in the tomato sauce, canned fire roasted diced tomatoes and coconut milk.

Step 5

Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Daily Inspiration

This butter chicken was soooo delicious and it turned out perfectly. It will be my go-to recipe from this point on. Served it with a pea pulao and we had a wonderful meal.

Wow this was a winner! I had every intention of making rice with this, but in the end was not able. I can't wait to make this again already and we haven't even eaten the leftovers. Garam masala is a new flavor for me, so I always taste it easily. It is so flavorful and good in this. Yummy in the tummy. I know it isn't authentic, but I'm from Missouri, so tough cookies-- I'm gonna make this with mashed potatoes someday cause that's what you have with every single thing to sop things up where I come from and it will be perfect.

This dish is Superb! The fact that you can pop it in the slow cooker and come home to a wonderful smell that just enticed every part of my being is a guarantee that it will be made again. I love how the onions, garlic, and ginger are sauteed ahead because it just makes it tastes better. I don't care for raw onions and/or garlic when thrown into a slowcooker given that the raw taste stays with the dish, but this recipe is perfect. Thank you QueenBea for sharing. So easy, so good! Our local Co op had fresh chicken so no waiting for a city shop to make this one. Made for awesome tasting Butter Chicken served with Basmati rice for my Friday evening meal and with Jasmine for my Saturday 'dinner and a movie' Being just me this weekend freezer stash to enjoy later. This one is a real winner!
