Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat butter in large pot, and cook vegetables until tender over low heat, stirring occasionally 15 minutes; season lightly.
Step 2
Add flour and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 3
Do not brown.
Step 4
Gradually stir in broth until blended.
Step 5
Add bouillon and chicken.
Step 6
Bring to a boil, cover and cook over low heat for 25 minutes.
Step 7
Add rice and heat another 5 minutes.
Step 8
Stir in hot half and half.
Step 9
Heat, but do not boil.
Step 10
Season to taste and serve.
