Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Step 2

Combine cookies and butter; reserve 1/4 cup for topping.

Step 3

Press remaining mixture into a 9X13 pan.

Step 4

Bake for 5 minutes in 375°F oven and cool completely.

Step 5

Prepare pudding mix according to package direction, except use only 1 3/4 cup milk. Immediately stir in peanut butter and chocolate. Fold in cool whip.

Step 6

Spread mixture evenly over crust and top with reserved cookie mixture.

Step 7

Cover and chill several hours or overnight.

Step 8

Cut into squares to serve.

Step 9

This can also be frozen.

Oh my, this was delicious! Chocolate, vanilla pudding, whipped cream, peanut butter....all mixed together in one dessert! It was heavenly. My cookie base didn't hold together well when I sliced it into individual servings, so next time I think I'll try adding a little more butter (maybe 1 Tbsp extra) to see if it keeps the base from crumbling before I get the slices to the dessert plates. But even so, it was positively delicious and everyone really enjoyed this recipe. Thanks, TeresaS.
