Step by Step Method
HONEY-CHIPOTLE SAUCE
Step 1
To prepare the Honey-Chipotle Sauce mix the honey, water, ketchup, vinegar, chili pepper and salt and then put into a pan and bring to a boil then immediately reduce heat for a couple of minutes then put aside.
Step 2
If using a Dutch Oven preheat to 350 degrees and add shortening or oil. You can do the same if you are using a fryer.
BATTER
Step 3
To prepare the batter mix the egg, milk, chicken broth, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder and when all mixed add the flour.
BREADING
Step 4
Mix the flour, salt, paprika, pepper and garlic powder together.
Step 5
Dip the chicken into the batter, coat with the breading, and then when all pieces are done, place into the fryer or oven for about 5 minutes – make sure to take out sooner if it appears it will burn.
Step 6
I like to place the cooked chicken on paper towel to drain the excess oil – not needed if in the Dutch Oven.
Step 7
In a large bowl, place the chicken then pour over the sauce and serve with your favorite sides!
