"I haven't made this recipe in such a long time. But, I do remember it being excellent. Serve this with some thick cut steak fries and a veggie for a great supper. "

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large sauce pan, over medium heat; heat oil. Saute onion, chili powder, and red pepper until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in sauce and vinegar. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 10 minutes; stirring occasionally.

Step 2

In a 9X13 baking dish, place chicken skin side down. Remove 1 C. sauce from pan (reserving for basting); pour remaining sauce over chicken. Cover. Chill at least 2 hours or overnight; turning chicken occasionally.

Step 3

Preheat broiler. Place chicken on rack of broiler pan. Broil 4-5 inches from heat source for about 35 minutes until chicken is fork tender and juices run clear; basting and turning chicken occasionally.

This is tasty recipe. I had to move the chicken away from the broiler after 15 minutes as the skins were starting to burn. I moved the rack to the middle position and lowered the temp to 375 and cooked for another 35 minutes.
