Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

Place chicken between two sheets of waxed paper and flatten to thickness of about 1/4 inch using a meat mallet or rolling pin. season both both of the chicken with garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Step 3

Fold each prosciutto slice in half and roll up tightly. Fold each swiss cheese slice around the prosciutto. Place one cheese roll on 1 long side of a chicken breast and then roll up jelly roll fashion, tucking in ends. Secure with toothpick. Repeat with remaining chicken and cheese rolls.

Step 4

Dip each chicken roll-up into egg and then dreaded in breadcrumbs.

Step 5

Place in baking dish. Drizzle butter over all.

Step 6

Bake for 20 minutes or until done.

We loved this...although really didn't taste any difference from using prosciutto vs regular ham...very easy to prepare...I like the rolling the meat and cheese prior to rolling up in the chicken...made for Billboard tag game...

This is a great recipe. Love that it is baked, not fried. My chicken breasts were on the large size, so had to bake about 30 minutes, but chicken was juicy and the prosciutto gave it a nice flavor.
