Step by Step Method

Step 1

Beat egg and add salt, pepper, Italian seasoning.

Step 2

Dip chicken into egg batter then coat with bread crumbs.

Step 3

Melt butter in skillet over medium heat and saute chicken on both sides till brown, then arrange in slow cooker.

Step 4

Pour pizza sauce over chicken and cook on low for 4 hours.

Step 5

Layer mozzarella cheese over top and sprinkle Parmesan cheese.

Step 6

Cook for an additional 20 minutes.

I was happily surprised by how great this turned out. The chicken was moist and tender. I did not use pizza sauce but substituted marinara instead. I also think next time I would reduce the amount of time to cook after the cheese is added, as I prefer it to be not so melted. I served this over ravioli and boy, did it get devoured!

Super easy to make and it's super delicious, too! Even with the short list of ingredients, this dish had a lot of flavor. And the chicken was quite moist even after all that time in the crock pot. Thanks, TeresaS.
