Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Cook the noodles according to package directions and drain.

Step 3

In a skillet over medium heat saute melt the butter and then add the onions and cook until tender; stir in soup, chiles and pimentos.

Step 4

In a greased 9 x 13 inch casserole layer the noodles, than the the soup mixture and then half of the chicken; repeat layers. Top with the cheese. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.

We loved this, it tastes fantastic and so easy to put together. Pure comfort food. I scaled the recipe down for 2 people and cooked in two separate personal size casserole dishes, one using gluten free pasta and the other regular wheat pasta. I wouldn't change a thing, thx for sharing your recipe with us.

Pure comfort food and perfect for a back-to-school work week. Loved the creamy, noodle-ly goodness. It was easy to put together using rotisserie chicken. I did half topped with cheese and half without - we all preferred the side without cheese. YUM!

A very easy casserole to put together and great comfort food. I used kluski noodles that I just cooked halfway since they would finish in the oven and didnt want mushy noodles. Used chicken breasts but did not add the pimento and used sharp cheddar cheese. When seasoning I did add a little celery seed and lemon pepper, my personal fav's. Delicious casserole, perfect for the colder months ahead, and the leftovers were even better. Made and reviewed for the Billboard Recipe Tag Game.
