Step by Step Method

Step 1

Spray a large piece of aluminum foil with baking spray.

Step 2

Slice half the cabbage into wedges, place on the aluminum foil.

Step 3

Slice onion thinly and place on top of cabbage.

Step 4

Dice up the butter and lay that on top of the veggies.

Step 5

Salt and pepper the veggies.

Step 6

Close the tinfoil by folding over the edges, making sure to seal well.

Step 7

You don't have to do this, but I always use a second piece of foil to make sure it is sealed well and doesn't leak.

Step 8

Place on the grill, and turn every 5 minutes. I cook with the lid on. You will feel the cabbage get soft as you are flipping it over.

Step 9

Serve!

This is such an easy recipe and it is delicious. Amazing what a little butter combined with cabbage and onion can do. I don't BBQ so I did it in the oven 450 for 25 minutes - perfect. Thanks Dissie for a lovely addition to our dinner. 28 March 2014 Made again - this time I added some caraway seeds - perfect. Once again I baked it and it came ou perfect.
