Step 1

Place all in a 7 inch skillet, cover, bring to a boil for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Stir and turn the brats over.

Step 3

Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Remove cover and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes more.

Step 5

Add beer as need to prevent burning.

Step 6

Serve on heated plates with kraut and onion on top or serve on rolls with added mustard.

Step 7

I sometimes crumble Stilton cheese on top.

I love Brats & Kraut. This is so good that I made a pig of myself and had 2 brats and a generous serving of Kraut. Served with boiled potatoes & fresh Apple slices. Mmmmm good. Extra Grey Poupon mustard on the brats. This will be served again soon.
