Step by Step Method
Step 1
Simmer on low the water figs and apricots for 20 minutes making sure it always has water until fruit is plump and very soft (can add port at last of cooking to cook off alcohol).
Step 2
When most of the water is boiled away transfer to food processor and add port juice and salt, it should be a spreadable paste , if to stiff add water teaspoon at a time
Step 3
Cool saves up to a week.
