"Years ago I found this recipe in a Fannie Farmer Cookbook, and lost the book. Well, I bought another Fannie Farmer book and the recipe was in it. :) So I decided to post it here so others could enjoy as much as I do.For my own personal tastes I left out the raisins, but I'll include them in the recipe. This cake is pretty dense but very good with a Cream Cheese Frosting. I'm not going to post the frosting, because the are already several good recipes for it posted elsewhere on the internet. Great old fashioned cake that I loved as a child. Reminds me of my mom's Raisin cake, so moist and so delicious! I used a Vanilla Buttercream Frosting on it and it was yummy!

Very good -- we used the 13 x 9 inch option and skipped the raisins and nuts - a great snack cake. Thanks for sharing!
