"This looks attractive and tastes great. I serve this as an appetizer but it could be a side dish for brunch. In the ingredients I say Pizza sauce but you may use salsa, chili sauce or even plain tomato paste. You may use regular, not lite, cheese. Your oven time may vary depending pn the size and thickness of you slices. I like mine just over 1/4" thick. If you like make your own fresh baon bits - about 3 slices of bacon."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400f
Step 2
Toss your cut rounds in a plastic bag with the salt and oil
Step 3
Place rounds on a lightly greased baking sheetor on slide foil
Step 4
Roast for 12 - to 15 minutes or until the rounds are tender but still firm
Step 5
Spread the rounds with the pizza sauce, add cheese, bacon and 1 basil leaf on top
Step 6
Return to oven for about 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted
Step 7
Serve warm
