"My DH has to have this whenever I make his German Hamburger Patties. It is a recipe that his Mother and Oma always made. It is on the bland side but he likes to eat it with some ketchup."

DH enjoyed these "potatoes that taste like potatoes" - which translated means he did not find them bland rather this cooking method highlighted the potato flavor. Yukon Gold potatoes worked nicely in this recipe. My timing was off and the potatoes were cooked before my pork roast so I covered them and put them on the back of the stove to keep them warm and had extremely tender potatoes - almost a mash. Wonderful - we'll make them again. Thanks TeresaS!

I used baby white potatoes for this recipe, and it was delicious. My onions blackened rather quickly (before the potatoes were done), so next time I'll add the onion about halfway through cooking, so it cooks but still retains some color. It was really easy to prepare though, and the potatoes were so tender and perfectly browned. Thanks, TeresaS. It's a great recipe.

I scaled back for 2 serves and made as directed using Carisma potatoes (a low gi white potato) and the end result was very tasty potatoes that the DS and I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you TeresaS made for Pick Me tag game.
