As Mikekey stated in his review, to me it is also comfort food. This recipe is delicious and the salmon really shines through. Dee, your mom knew her salmon loaf! I buttered my loaf pan and baked it a little longer, the edges came out crispy, loved that. I normally have had salmon loaf using canned salmon, but I’m curious on how it would taste using fresh and also on how it would taste with tuna, I’ll have to try it and see. Good stuff. Thank you, Dee, for sharing.

Comfort food to me. My mom wasn't much of a cook (she was a good baker, though) but she made a mean salmon loaf, which I loved. It was very similar to this. She always made a white sauce for it. I got "fancy" and baked it in a glass mold instead of a loaf pan.
