Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the chicken in a a large bowl. Add oil and toss to coat. Add flour and toss. Transfer the pieces to the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn chicken and bake 20 minutes more.

Step 2

Meanwhile in a sauce pan, whisk 1/2 cup orange juice, brown sugar, molasses, garlic, hot sauce and crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil 2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Remove from heat. Dissolve cornstarch in water, and add to the sauce, stirring. Return the pan to medium-high heat and bring to a boil, Boil for 30-45 seconds, until the sauce thickens to coat the spoon. Remove from heat and stir in orange zest. Transfer the chicken to a bowl. Pour the sauce over the chicken tossing to coat.

Step 3

Serve warm.

We enjoyed these wings to the nax! The only change I made was to use 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper instead of the peppers. Flavor was fantastic!

Great wings! We skipped the crushed red pepper as I thought it would be too spicy -- but next time I will use them as these are just right and the red pepper would just add a tad more heat! Thanks for sharing!

I scaled back for one serve using 6 chicken wings and made as per recipe for a delicious moist and addictive wings. Usually I would only eat 3 or 4 and save the rest to try cold to see if they would be good for a picnic but these were so good that I scoffed the lot. Thanks TeresaS made for Billboard Recipe Tag game.
