Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken wings (with tips removed)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (cooking oil)
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 oranges, whole (navel oranges, juiced and 1 zested)
  • 6 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the chicken in a a large bowl. Add oil and toss to coat. Add flour and toss. Transfer the pieces to the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn chicken and bake 20 minutes more.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile in a sauce pan, whisk 1/2 cup orange juice, brown sugar, molasses, garlic, hot sauce and crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil 2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Remove from heat. Dissolve cornstarch in water, and add to the sauce, stirring. Return the pan to medium-high heat and bring to a boil, Boil for 30-45 seconds, until the sauce thickens to coat the spoon. Remove from heat and stir in orange zest. Transfer the chicken to a bowl. Pour the sauce over the chicken tossing to coat.

  • Step 3: Serve warm.
