"This pasta dish comes together quickly and is a favorite after a long day at work. My hubby always called it the "grown up" spaghetti when the kids were younger - but now they are grown up and love it too. It is great by itself with some crusty bread and a salad, and is also nice as a pasta side to Italian seasoned roasted chicken, pork, or seafood. It was originally contributed to recipezaardotcom by Y Wrach."
Heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic; cook for about 30 seconds (do not burn garlic).
Add tomatoes and their juices, anchovy, capers and olives, lower heat to a simmer, cooking gently for about 20 minutes.
While sauce is simmering, cook pasta in boiling, salted water according to package instructions.
Drain pasta; toss pasta and basil with the sauce.
Serve immediately with grated cheese.
