Smothered Pork Chops & Bell Peppers
"A good easy comfort meal, the pork chops are firstly dredged in flour, browned in butter, and then cooked with onions, green peppers, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth and seasonings in a tasty gravy. Serve with mashed potatoes. Adapted from Paula Deen"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Season the pork chops with garlic salt, pepper, and cayenne.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 3
Lightly coat the chops in flour, shake off any excess, and place them into the pan. Brown well, about 3 minutes per side Remove chops to a plate and set aside.
Step 4
In the same skillet add the green peppers and onions and saute until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about one minute).
Step 5
Add in 1 1/2 tablespoons flour; whisk for 1-2 minutes. Pour in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until bubbly and thickened, around 2 minutes.
Step 6
Add chops back to the pan. Add salt and pepper to you own taste. Cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid, and allow to simmer for around 40-45 minutes or until chops are tender.
Step 7
Serve with mashed potatoes
