Step 1
Pour the vegetable oil in a plate and place the salmon steaks over the oil to coat bottom; sprinkle tops with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2
Place the salmon steaks, oiled side down, on a rimmed baking sheet.
Step 3
Mix together the mayonnaise, smoked paprika and oregano and spread over top of salmon steaks with the back of a spoon.
Step 4
Place in a preheated 375 degree Fahrenheit oven and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, until salmon just starts to flake.
Step 5
Remove from oven and serve.
