Step by Step Method
Step 1
Thoroughly mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla

Add flour, salt, baking soda and coloring. Mix well
Step 3
Divide dough into 4 equal parts and shape into roll 1 inches in diameter and 10 inches long

Wrap each roll and refrigerate 1 hour
Step 5
Heat oven to 400
Step 6
Cut rolls into 1/8 inch slices
Step 7
Place 3 slices with sides touching on ungreased baking sheet, press together. If desired, cut stems from another slice
Step 8
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown
Step 9
Immediately remove from baking sheet
