  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 12 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Green food coloring

How to Make

  • Step 1: Thoroughly mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla

  • Step 2: Add flour, salt, baking soda and coloring. Mix well

  • Step 3: Divide dough into 4 equal parts and shape into roll 1 inches in diameter and 10 inches long

  • Step 4: Wrap each roll and refrigerate 1 hour

  • Step 5: Heat oven to 400

  • Step 6: Cut rolls into 1/8 inch slices

  • Step 7: Place 3 slices with sides touching on ungreased baking sheet, press together. If desired, cut stems from another slice

  • Step 8: Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown

  • Step 9: Immediately remove from baking sheet
