Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat and add onion, celery and carrot and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until softening.

Step 2

Add pork mince and garlic and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up any lumps, for 5 minutes or until mince changes colour and them stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute and then stir in passata and bay leaves and bring to the boil and then reduce heat, cover and simmer stirring occasionally for 45 minutes.

Step 3

Uncover and simmer until sauce thicken slightly and season with sate and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling water following packet directions or until al dente.

Step 5

Drain spaghetti and toss the spaghetti through the Bolognese sauce and sprinkle with parmesan and basil leaves and serve.

Another ImPat winner at my house. Enjoyed! I love Bolognese, that had me double the recipe to add to my freezer stash meals for lunch or an early evening meal. Made as posted, topping with snipped fresh basil leaves and parsley from my backyard garden. This is so a repeatable!
