Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat until almost smoking.

Step 2

Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and light golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Step 3

Remove and set aside.

Step 4

Divide meat into 4 equal portions.

Step 5

Shape each into a patty and make a depression in the center.

Step 6

Season both sides of meat with salt and pepper.

Step 7

Heat remaining oil over high heat until it begins to shimmer.

Step 8

Cook burgers to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare.

Step 9

During the last minute of cooking, add cheese and cover pan.

Step 10

Top burgers with peppers and parsley.

Our burgers were grilled for that nice charcoal flavor. Used Pepper Jack cheese, hot pickled pepper relish, and mayo as changes. Fabulous mix of flavors!!! 5+ •••••

Really great tasty burger. I love the unique toppings. Beautiful combination of flavours. I liked having the plain meat pattie allowing the natural flavour of the beef to come through. Definitely a keeper
