Step by Step Method

Step 1

Drain beans and reserve 1/2 cup of liquid.

Step 2

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and crumble. Drain off all but 1 tbsp. of drippings. Add onion and brown slightly.

Step 3

Stir in salt, cornstarch, sugar, vinegar, mustard and the 1/2 cup liquid from beans. Stir constantly until mixture boils and thickens.

Step 4

Add the drained beans and heat thoroughly,

Turn into serving dish and garnish with crumbled bacon and hard boiled eggs.
