"This is how my mom and grandma (who taught her) made toast and gravy for breakfast. My grandpa was navy and dad marine, so they had this a lot. Shit on a shingle is a military breakfast. My gravy is thick, I like it that way. Wall paper paste, lol. You could thin it out by adding more water if you wish."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Brown the meat. Add in the flour (YOU MAY NEED TO ADD MORE FLOUR IF YOUR PORK IS REALLY GREASY, YOU SHOULD SEE NO GREASE LEFT) and brown also, some people take out meat and just add flour to grease, I don't.

Step 2

Add spices, milk and water; stir like crazy to get mixed right; simmer until thick, you have to cook at least 15 minutes to get raw flour taste out, stir so flour doesn't stick to bottom (may need to add more water).

Step 3

Season to taste.
