"Easy for a weeknight dinner. The sauce has just the right touch of Hispanic flavors from my childhood. Great when served over white rice!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place all of the spices into a small bowl and toss to combine. Use the spice mix to generously season both sides of the pork chops.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. Once the oil starts shimmering, add the pork chops and brown on both sides.

Step 3

Reduce heat to medium and add the onions to the pan, stirring them in. Saute for 3-4 minutes until they begin to caramelize, stirring often.

Step 4

Add the tomato sauce and sugar, stirring to combine. Simmer, covered, until chops are done - about 5 more minutes.

Step 5

Remove from heat and serve over white rice.
